Christmas
Cantata – December 18

December
24 – Christmas Eve worship service –
7 p.m.
We
will gather at 7 p.m. for our Christmas Eve candlelight
worship service. The service will include Christmas
carols and the sharing of the Lord's Supper. At
the end of the service, we will light our candles,
reminding us of the light Christ brought into
the earth, and will merrily sing, ”Joy
to the Word, the Lord is come! Let earth receive
her King!”
December
25– Christmas morning worship service –
11 a.m
We
will come together again for a casual Christmas
Day service at 11 a.m. As cultural influences
and consumer-driven demands often have the spotlight,
by joining together for worship on this special
Sunday morning, we proclaim that the birth of
Christ is of utmost importance in our celebrations.Everyone
is encouraged to dress casual and kids can stay
in their pajamas. The service will included the
story of Christ’s birth and a few verses
of our favorite
Christmas carols.

PLEDGE
SUNDAY was Sunday, Oct. 16. Pledge Sunday
is the day the Stewardship Ministry Team asks
us to bring forward our pledge cards during the
offering part of the service as part of our response
to God's love. Pledge cards are being mailed out
the week of Oct. 3.
GOOD
NEIGHBORS The new Good Neighbors groups
sponsored by the Board of Deacons are in the organizational
process. All families of the congregation are
being placed into geographical neighborhood groups
that will offer fellowship activities as well
as care for one another and maybe even do small
mission projects as well. The goal for each group
was to schedule its first activity by the end
of September, but please be patient as leaders
are recruited and groups are organized. Some of
the groups have held their first meetings already,
while others are seeking leadership. If you are
interested in being a neighborhood leader, please
contact Jim Berry, chairman of the deacons.
